This course presents the basic concepts of the ontology, epistemology, axiology of knowledge, logic of thinking, truth, ethics, and aesthetic knowledge in the humanity and social sciences. Upon completing this course students are able to comprehend and differentiate among the aspects in the concepts, and apply them in their academic writings,
such as final projects, theses, articles or papers.


Capaian Pembelajaran
  • to differentiate pholosophy of science from other subfields or brances of philosophy
  • to distinguish between inductive and deductive reasoning
  • to explain the 3 theories of truth: coherence, correspondence, empericism
  • to create different kinds of syllogism
  • to elaborate the process of logico-hipotetiko-verifikatif in a research
  • to evaluate given syllogismi as to the logic and acceptability
  • to explain the concepts of onthology, epystemology and axyology as the bases of science
  • to apply the concepts of onthology, epystemology and axyology to thesis writing
  • to distinguish a null-hypothesis from a directive or working hypothesis
  • to analyze the roles of science in human daily life (moral, social, cultural and political perspectives)
