This course studies various literary approaches that stem from the basic contexts of criticism: Author-, Text-, Reader-, Other Text-, Society-, and Discourse –based criticism. The course requires students to apply these theories (perspectives, principles and procedures) in conducting critical analysis of different literary works in different contexts.
Capaian Pembelajaran
  • Differentiate various perspectives in literary theories;
  • Identify points of stylistic criticism from the selected criticisms
  • Develop literary criticisms
  • Communicate the developed criticism through classroom-level seminar;
  • Evaluate the quality of the developed criticism by giving constructive comments and feedback in the classroom-level seminar
  • Identify the object of literary studies
