This course aims at developing students’ critical perspectives and awareness toward the close relation between contemporary political, social, economical and cultural development with the production of the works of British culture. In order to achieve the above objective, the contents of this course include the British identity, British geography/landscape, brief British history, multiculturalism, gender, lifestyle, education, citizenship, the relationship between British and Asia, Europe, and the rest of the world.

  • explain the close relations between contemporary political, social, economy, and cultural development with the production of the works of British culture
  • apply knowledge of the British identities, geography/landscape on discussions
  • explain the British history, including the history of indigeneous people
  • explain multiculturalism, gender, lifestyle, education, and citizenship in the British societies
  • apply the knowledge of the relationship between the UK and Asia, Europe, and the rest of the world
  • learn individually and/or with other people
