This course is designed to provide students with the ability to write various paragraphs, comprising narrative, descriptive, cause-effect, process, and comparison-contrast paragraphs. The course also covers theories of paragraph writing, which include topic sentence identification, paragraph structure, , unity and coherence and types of support. As the first writing course the students have to take, the content of the course also covers some basic knowledge, including types of sentences and sentence problems
