The course is designed to enable students to have a more thorough and comprehensive knowledge about the field of educational assessment in general with a special emphasis on language testing, and its recent and advanced developments so that they can make better, more responsible tests and professionally develop language tests, including non test tools, of their own, administer, analyze and use their results competently.
Capaian Pembelajaran
  • Tell the difference of paradigms, approaches, and models of language testing and assessment
  • Discuss the qualities of a good test
  • Relate the theories of language testing and assessment to real practices in schools and/or universities
  • Explain different approaches of language tests: discrete, integrative, communicative, and authentic/performance
  • Develop test items based on the current national examination (AKM/Asesmen Kompetensi Minimal) and its related test (PISA/Programme for International Student Assessment)
  • Develop Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)-based test items
  • Develop a set of online/offline summative test completed with the table of specification, scoring rubric/scoring guide and score interpretation.
