- Memahami dan mendeskripsikan tentang sains, sejarah ilmu pengetahuan dan sains, macam-macam pengetahuan, sumber-sumber pengetahuan dan sains
- Menjelaskan, dan mencari sumber-sumber dan metodologi pencarian ilmu pengetahuan dan sains yang meliputi usaha-usaha rasionalisme, positivisme, empirisme, sintesis, pandangan-pandangan modern (Rasionalisme kritis, Popper, Kontekstualisme, Kuhn)
- Memahami kebenaran ilmiah, membedakan hukum dan teori serta menerapkan hukum dan teori untuk prediksi ilmiah
- Memahami konteks ilmu pengetahuan alam di masa depan yang meliputi keterbatasan sains, sains di masa mendatang, pendekatan terintegrasi berlatar belakang sains
- Menerapkan sains di masyarakat yang meliputi masalah bebas nilai sains, dan peranan serta tanggung jawab ilmuwan, keterkaitan Sains-Teknologi-Masyarakat
