This course is a practical study to provide students with direct experiences
in the field of journalism. Topics include the development and current attitudes of
journalism; its tools and functions; understanding, avoiding and or taking
advantages of ‘yellow journalism’; logical skills to develop news; techniques of
interviewing; the concept of inverted pyramid; effective ledes and interesting
quotations; and online journalism. By the end of the semester, students are
required to produce either investigative report on any news-worthy issue of their
own choice or some news-articles of which topics are selected on the basis of
current, relevant situations.

Capaian Pembelajaran

•  Commence critical thinking after a series of arguments to have basic journalistic skills
  
  

•  Avoid making journalistic mistakes by distinguishing yellow journalism, exaggerating titles,
  unchecked sources, poor triangulation, offensive and biased contents
  
  

•  Master investigative journalistic for having paper-based and/or online journalism
  
  

•  Write and/or compose news according to certain journalistic standards
