This Introduction to Educational Science course contains comprehensive and contextual study to equip students to master the following competencies: (1) Basics of education which includes human nature and its development, history of education, foundations of education, and principles of education (material on individual dimensions, social dimensions, moral dimensions, religious dimensions, development of the human dimension, history of world and Indonesian education, and professional ethics of educators). (2) Educational science which includes educational theory (grand theory), education as science, and education as a system (theories of nativism, empiricism, naturalism, convergence and their development). (3) Dynamic aspects of education which include educational renewal and educational problems (i.e. material on character education and multiculturalism in education).
