This course aims at developing students‘ competence in critical studies towards the complex discourses of dramatic elements’ network by analyzing how some of literature’s most contemporary issues (ideology, gender, power, class conflict) emerge and turn the dramatic text into power-contestation and meaning establishment in society. The students need to master dramatic concepts and theories, be competent to offer alternative solutions upon demands, and be committed to achieving personal/organizational/social goals with creative and responsible attitudes.

Capaian Pembelajaran
- produce sound analyses on the intrinsic elements of tragedy and the working mechanism of the elements;
- develop quality discussion and argumentative essays which have clear structure, justifiable significance, and objectives
- appreciate the design, conduct and reporting of original research;
- communicate the discussion essay (group work) and essay plan through classroom-level seminar
- evaluate the quality of the developed essay plans by giving constructive comments and feedback to fellow students in the classroom-level seminar.
- have a good understanding of the concept and the elements of tragedy in comparison with comedy;
