This course aims at developing students’ critical perspectives and awareness toward the close relation between contemporary political, social, economical and cultural development with the production of the works of American culture. In order to achieve the above objective, the contents of this course will include the American identity, American geography/landscape, brief American history, indigeneous American, white Americans and multiculturalism, gender, lifestyle, education, citizenship, the relationship between America and Asia, Europe, and the rest of the world.
Capaian Pembelajaran

• Relate facts and ideas about American identity, geography/ landscape, and history with contemporary political, social, economic, and cultural development
• Describe important celebrations, topics, and events in America and how they influence the identity, lifestyle, and policy of the country
• Describe the variety of languages used in America
• Describe multiculturalism in America in relation to Asia and the rest of the world
• Demonstrate positive attitudes and tolerance towards different culture(s) especially American culture
• Write a paper about a cultural aspect of America collaboratively.
