This course develops the students’ ability to read and comprehend popular articles (about 2500- word long). The class activities focus on developing their reading strategies in distinguishing facts from non-facts and opinions, inferring meanings, making generalizations, interpreting an author’s tone, determining an author’s purpose, and deducing an author’s bias.
